Closet Hack!

Happy Friday Everyone!!!

Has this ever happened to you?



I have a solution for you! How can you possibly figure out what to wear if you can't actually FIND ANYTHING? Organizing your closet is essential for every fashionista out there and frankly essential to retaining your sanity. So hear are some ways to organize your closet.

1.  By Type
This is how I have my closet right now and I find that its a very good system because my closet has little dividers in it. If your closet is divided like mine I really recommend this method. In each of the dividers place one type of clothing. I currently have mine this way.

White: Formal Dresses

Aqua: Long sleeve shirts

Red: Dresses

Green: Short sleeve shirts

Blue: Jackets

Pink: Pants

2. By Color:

If your a person who really identifies with color coordinated things this may be the way for you. This solution will really help making an outfit come together a lot faster. 

3. By Season:
I don't really like organizing my closet this way, but if it works for you than go for it. The only thing I don't like about this method is you have to switch the order every season which would be a large hassle

LOOK AT THIS: Underwater Photography

K.I.S.S Summer Makeup

In the summer I try to go makeup free as much as possible, for a couple of reasons.
1. I have really bad acne.
2. My skin needs to breathe
3. There's really no point to get glammed up when I'm just going to the pool.

However, when I do decide to venture out into the real world I do like to put my face on!

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT AN ALIEN!

For my summer makeup I like to K.I.S.S- Keep it simple stupid! ( Okay that's kind of a mean phrase but in my defense, I did not make it up ) The makeup I choose to do, really depends on where I'm going, and what I'm going to be doing. But for the most part this is my typical routine.

I first start by applying the Tarte Clean Slate Poreless primer. This is the best primer I've found so far. It is on the higher end of the price scale but my mom and I have been using it, and it is so worth the price. 

Taking a concealer brush I cover up all my pimples. The green tint of this concealer will counteract any redness thus making pimples disappear- like magic! But not as magic as this guy...

This is the best drugstore foundation I have ever used. And it really does live up to its claim about long lasting durability. I even wore it in Disney world and it did not budge! I blend this in with a damp beauty blender, but it also blends in nicely with your hands. I'm 110- because I am truly that pale, but hey I am getting a tan. Unfortunately I am almost out and I want more, of this foundation, if that wasn't clear.  

I use this concealer for all highlighting needs. It does a great job, however I have been using it forever and really would like to try something new.  After that I set it with powder. I recommend physicians formula. 

If I'm feeling a need for color I will add some some blush to the apples of my cheeks. After I apply I will go in with my beauty blender and really blend it into my skin. It gives a very naturally flushed look. 

For lips I like to line and fill my lips with NYX SPL835 Pinky/Rose.

Then I will finish it off with some mascara! I usually try to stay away from eye shadow because that it more like to melt and crease in the summer when your hot and sweaty and such.

Why you Should be Keeping a Diary!

Good Afternoon lovelies! Have you ever found one of your old papers or assignments that you really loved doing? Or seen an old picture of yourself and thought " WOW have I changed!," ? This is the exact reason why you should be keeping a diary.  I've always tried to keep a diary however I never really stuck with it. I have found countless entries apologizing to myself for not writing in a while. It's actually quite humorous! But as cliche as writing in a diary may seem I can assure you, its not. Here's the thing, most of the time, when we tend to fall in a dark place, we keep digging ourselves into it deeper because we feel like we have no one to talk to. But keeping a written account of your feelings and daily occurrences really create a space where your not alone, because your diary/ journal is your friend. Your diary will never complain, or interrupt!

Also a diary is great because it allows you to look back at times in your life where maybe things were going awesome, or maybe the first time you saw that one guy who maybe will turn out to be your future husband. You never know! And its also funny to look back at the times were you thought you  royally screwed things up so bad, and how you were so embarrassed and realize it truly was nothing in the long run.

If you do decide to embark on the journey of keeping a diary, I encourage you to stick with it. Even if all you write is a couple sentences, it will all contribute to the story of your life.

Into it or Over it: Grey Hair

Hey Everyone! I'm bringing back an old favorite segment, and this time were talking about what I like to call " The Gray Hair Revolution". I keep seeing all these young women dying their hair, well, gray! I just don't get it to be completely honest. For years I was always taught that gray was bad and that there are multiple different ways to avoid going gray.  It seems though now that people are embracing the trend. I guess in some ways it can look glamorous, but it's definitely not a very fun color. ITS THE SUMMER PEOPLE! If you wanna color your hair, maybe go for something colorful and fun! But just remember to be safe so you don't completely fry your

Summer Essentials

Printed Shorts:

Summer is a time for adventures, and the less time you spend on your outfit the more time you can get out there and explore! My favorite piece to wear during the summer is printed short. you can wear a simple colored v-neck and a pair of super cute printed shorts and throw on a necklace and BOOM! 

Water: 

This summer I dare you to drink more water!I am! My only exception is my coffee in the morning ( also one of my essentials). Drinking water will give you the energy you need to live better this summer. If you have trouble drinking water, I know I do, find a really cute water bottle or glass that will motivate you to drink. 

Nail Polish: 

Make it your mission to find your signature color! If you end up with nothing to do one day, practice getting really good at painting your nails. Besides when my nails are painted I feel like everything I do with my hands automatically becomes 100x more awesome and dainty. Also with all those open toed shoes you'll be strutting in, you need some color. 

A Super Cute Hat: 

Everyone needs that one hat that makes them feel super fashion forward. Is it a floppy sun hat? A edgy fedora? Whatever it is, rock it! Hats also provides a nice shade and protection from the sun. 

My Guitar:

Summer cookouts or gatherings always need a little music! Being able to play my guitar when I'm bored or feeling inspired always lifts my spirits. The great thing about music is you can create the soundtrack of your life through your hands and voice, and I think that's pretty awesome.

What Time Is It? SUMMERTIME

That's Right People! School is out , the sun is on, and ( even though it doesn't technically start until the 21st) summer is here! I love summer for a couple reasons and here they are.

 You get to sleep in!

And thankfully enough, unlike in Cinderella's case, there is no annoying clock tower/ alarm clock to wake you up for school. Unfortunately in my case I have a sister who likes to jump on me when I don't wake up.

Pool Time and Fun in the Sun!

I love to swim in the summer. I like to pretend I'm a mermaid occasionally. I'm debating putting it in my yearbook quote : All these years and no one figured out I am a mermaid. 

 Two Words: Frozen Lemonade

Its a slushie, and lemonade combined... GENIUS
And whats better than PINK lemonade! People say there's no difference...

I beg to differ


Going to Amusement Parks:


Weirdly enough I'm a huge thrill seeker when it comes to rides! Who cares about long lines?  Standing in lines I've found are a huge bonding experience. You can talk, and play games, and all that other fun corny stuff :)


Sleepovers Any Day of the Week!



This makes me so happy! I always hate trying to have sleepovers during the school year because my schedule is always so packed. But hey, its summertime..

Friendship

8 Times

That's how many times I've picked up my life and moved, and that doesn't include switching from temporary to permanent housing. I'm going to be straight up with you, the reader, moving is not fun. You have to say goodbye to the life you built , the school you go to, the room that you customized to yourself ( but were never really happy with). 

But by far the worst part of moving, is saying goodbye to your friends. " We will stay in touch they say" they almost never do. " Be prepared I'm coming to visit", half of them never do. 

But not this time,

This time was different. This time around the friendships I've made with people over the last 7 years, and the last year specifically, I know are going to stay. If they don't it will be one of the most devastating heartbreaks I have ever had. I know that where I am, I'm going to make new friends and build new relationships. but I am never going to forget the memories made, the trips taken, the inside jokes shared, and the people who made me so happy.

My Pinterest Discovery!

I am an avid pinner on Pinterest and recently I got bored with going to the humor section and Disney stuff all the time and decided to branch out. NOTE: Do not be alarmed I will never completely stop looking up Disney pins because let's face it, they're awesome. Anyways my blogger friend Amelia really inspired me to look at the Art section and I've discovered, I really love art. I was scrolling about and I came across this one painter who has me truly in awe. Loui Jover, the painter of the works I am about to share with you really captured my attention. I love his paintings because they are so glamorous and fierce! I also really find it compelling that he paints against book pages or even sheet music if the themes coincide. The Future

Hey Everyone!

I apologize for not posting in a while. As I have previously mentioned I am currently in the process of moving and recently my internet access has been very limited, so I am resorting to using my phone and my iPad. By mid June I should be hopefully all settled but it may take a while to get all situated.

Do not fear! I have a lots of ideas for the summer, and I plan on going back to my old schedule. Hopefully I will be able to knock out a post everyday, we will have to wait and see.

I also wanted to mention I want to take this blog in a different direction. With my usual makeup, fashion, and all around beauty post, I want to do more. I want to make this an all around fun place for you. I have lots of ideas but I am open to suggestions. Want to see something in particular? Don't be afraid to comment!
