Relieving Stress

I think to be fabulous, you must not just be fabulous on the outside, but also within. In our busy society there is barely any time anymore to lounge around and relax. Saying this it is most likely that all of us, at one point, have experienced high stress and anxiety. I, especially during the school year, get very anxious and stressed to the point where sometimes I just feel trapped and need to escape.
If you're like me and need some stress relief or would just like to spend a " Me Day" ( which I highly recommend) I have gathered some tips and tricks on how to let the problems go.



Take a Hot Bath:
There is nothing better than a nice long hot bath when you're feeling stressed. All you need to do is flick off the lights, light some candles, add some bubbles and you're good to go. While you're in the bath you could read a book or listen to some soothing music.

Eat Some Chocolate:
I believe chocolate is God's gift to girls. I don't know what it is about chocolate but when I'm stressed it's like the world's best medicine! My favorite type of chocolate is dark chocolate. A lot of people don't like dark chocolate due to its bitter taste, however I enjoy it.



Get Outside:
The power of the outdoors is an amazing thing, especially in the summer. You're filled with a sense of life and serenity and peace. Do something physically exerting. THis way you feel like you're accomplishing something, which in turn will decrease your stress. You could ride your bike, go for a jog, or walk down to the local ice cream shop ( yet another thing I believe decreases stress).

Binge Watch Some Netflix:
I've come to realize that getting involved in other peoples drama ,that won't really affect your life, really gets you out of your head. You may suffer from a major heartbreak when all the season's of your favorite show ends, but the high is good while it lasts.

Into it or Over It: Overalls

Schools out finally! – However this does not give you a chance to stop being fabulously dressed (ok maybe just a little). What if there was a way to combine casual summer attire and some sense of girly-ness? Well luckily for all the girls out there, including me, who are striving to find the balance, I have spotted a trend arising…

One big trend I have spotted recently is the recent explosion of overalls. They started making an appearance this spring and have continued to blow up. Myself personally I could never pull overalls off, well maybe when I was six, but never the less they’ve still exploded. As I've said before this year, 2014, has been the year of youthful attire. You could go edgy with a printed tank and a pair of chucks/vans. Or you could go girly and pair them with a graphic tank, a nice pair of oxfords, and a flower crown. With the ability to go from edgy to girly overalls are perfect for summer.

The tank is from Forever21, the overalls are from Aeropostale, and the Black vans are from Vans.

My Summer Bucket List

Finally school is out and summer is here! Well sort of, right now it feels more like were back in March with the crazy out of the blue rain. This summer I have no obligations and I look forward to spending time with family and friends. I've been searching for the best things to do this summer and I think I've come up with the perfect list of beauty must do's this summer!

Experiment with Color:

Now I've talked about cotton candy strands before and they still continue to be a huge trend. However if you're still to afraid to make the commitment, why not try hair chalk? Waterproof makeup is the way to go for summer. And with all the things you're planning to do this summer, its nice to save a little money. By this I mean you don't have to splurge on high end products to look fantastic, drug store products work just as well. These products were recommended by Zephyr Basine. They were the highest rated at CVS Pharmacy.


Get Some Vitamin D:

Just 30 minutes out in the sun is all you need to have a burst of energy. Also I have found that I get depressed when I sit at the computer too long and some time outside riding my bike is all I need to brighten up my day and clear my head.

The Bold Brow

If you have been living under a rock anytime between January and now you maybe a little confused about what I am talking about in this article. However for those of you who may be isolated from the media I am here to enlighten you on this subject I have been wrestling with: The Bold Brow.

Throughout my life, the older I got, the darker and thicker my eyebrows got. I absolutely hated it! They got so out of control I even started getting them waxed at like nine years old (not my idea but mom know best right?). I hated how they took over my face and I felt like I had two caterpillars growing out of my forehead. This year and the past one have shown though that maybe my " fuzzy caterpillars" aren't such a bad thing. 

This year I have really started branching out and experimenting with makeup, however filling in my brows seemed like a daunting and extremely difficult task. I had watched  millions ( over exaggeration ) of youtube videos but every time I did it I looked ridiculous. However when I finally mastered it, I loved how they looked. They framed my face and made my hazel eyes pop! 

I definitely recommend bold brows to top of any look. When going to a formal affair or just heading off for a night on the town, they are the perfect accessory. Team Bold Brows!

Swimsuit Trends of 2014

The days until summer break are super close and I am excited! Warm temperatures, nice long swims, and plenty of ice cream ! No summer vacation can be complete without the perfect bathing suit. This summer I've seen some really cute trends arise.  Myself personally, I love to go bold with my swimwear, however there is such a variety of styles, prints, and cuts to choose from.

The One Piece:

I've noticed a reappearance of the one piece this season.One piece swimsuits are the bikinis older more sophisticated sister. Interestingly though these are not your regular one piece cover up anymore that have been used to  hide your body. One pieces now-a-days come with sexy cutouts and super interesting prints. There really nice if you want a little bit more coverage and sophistication.

The Bikini:

 
The bikini has been popular for a while now for a number of reasons, the most popular being the excuse to show a little skin. Bikinis can come in super vibrant colors and prints or in simple solid colors. There are many different types of bikini's; the bandeau, halter, string, etc. My favorites are the floral printed ones because they have such a girly and flirty quality to them.  I also like the lace ones for this same reason.

Bad News

I have some bad news.  I have to take an issued break from my blog the rest of the week. However the good news is that I will be back next week full force.

This VS That: Sunglasses

No summer outfit can be complete without a rockin pair of shades. I've seen two types of sunglasses recently that have really caught my attention. However I can't decide which I like better.

How adorable does Bethany Mota look in these heart shaped glasses. I love how these glasses make any outfit immediately girly and innocent. I think overall anyone could pull these off. They are a little out of the box as well without pushing the boundaries. These would be the perfect beach accessory to wear with a lace bikini or the perfect pair of sunglasses to throw on when going out with friends. My favorites are the rose pink tinted ones.

These glasses have really exploded this year. I love the  retro feel of these glasses and how they really make a statement. They are very out of the box and, in my opinion, very stylish. At first I thought they were sort of elderly looking,
but I absolutely love them.I also like that they are similar to the geek glasses, but with a twist. However I don't think all face types look good with these types of sunglasses. You really have to have the right features to pull these things off. Now that being said, I honestly have no clue what you have to have feature wise to pull these off, but when you see someone wearing them determine that for yourself.

Happy 88th Birthday Marilyn Monroe!

Marilyn Monroe was known for many things, her femininity and being a sex symbol, but most importantly for her style and class. Now I'm not to fond of the sex symbol part of her, however Marilyn was the ultimate style icon of her era.

Marilyn resembled old Hollywood glam at its finest. Even today her platinum blond locks and her bright red lips inspire many celebrity looks, like Christina Aguilera. I think what I like most about Marilyn is her " I could care less" attitude. This girl, this woman, did things her own way. She was a confident, curvaceous women that took the world  by storm. here are some of my favorite quotes from her.
