What Time Is It? SUMMERTIME

That's Right People! School is out , the sun is on, and ( even though it doesn't technically start until the 21st) summer is here! I love summer for a couple reasons and here they are.

 You get to sleep in!
And thankfully enough, unlike in Cinderella's case, there is no annoying clock tower/ alarm clock to wake you up for school. Unfortunately in my case I have a sister who likes to jump on me when I don't wake up.

Pool Time and Fun in the Sun!

I love to swim in the summer. I like to pretend I'm a mermaid occasionally. I'm debating putting it in my yearbook quote : All these years and no one figured out I am a mermaid.

 Two Words: Frozen Lemonade

Its a slushie, and lemonade combined... GENIUS
And whats better than PINK lemonade! People say there's no difference...

I beg to differ

Going to Amusement Parks:

Weirdly enough I'm a huge thrill seeker when it comes to rides! Who cares about long lines?  Standing in lines I've found are a huge bonding experience. You can talk, and play games, and all that other fun corny stuff :)

Sleepovers Any Day of the Week!

This makes me so happy! I always hate trying to have sleepovers during the school year because my schedule is always so packed. But hey, its summertime..

Want fun sleepover activities?: http://just-be-fabulous.blogspot.com/2014/07/sleepover-activites.html

And perhaps one of my most favorites...

Summer Fashion:

I'm so excited to share my summer fashion finds with you this season. From bathing suits, to casual wear, and maybe a trip or two this summer is going to be awesome! Stay tuned for more with me, and...

Friendship

8 Times

That's how many times I've picked up my life and moved, and that doesn't include switching from temporary to permanent housing. I'm going to be straight up with you, the reader, moving is not fun. You have to say goodbye to the life you built , the school you go to, the room that you customized to yourself ( but were never really happy with).

But by far the worst part of moving, is saying goodbye to your friends. " We will stay in touch they say" they almost never do. " Be prepared I'm coming to visit", half of them never do.

But not this time,

This time was different. This time around the friendships I've made with people over the last 7 years, and the last year specifically, I know are going to stay. If they don't it will be one of the most devastating heartbreaks I have ever had. I know that where I am, I'm going to make new friends and build new relationships. but I am never going to forget the memories made, the trips taken, the inside jokes shared, and the people who made me so happy.

Never

My Pinterest Discovery!

I am an avid pinner on Pinterest and recently I got bored with going to the humor section and Disney stuff all the time and decided to branch out. NOTE: Do not be alarmed I will never completely stop looking up Disney pins because let's face it, they're awesome. Anyways my blogger friend Amelia really inspired me to look at the Art section and I've discovered, I really love art. I was scrolling about and I came across this one painter who has me truly in awe. Loui Jover, the painter of the works I am about to share with you really captured my attention. I love his paintings because they are so glamorous and fierce! I also really find it compelling that he paints against book pages or even sheet music if the themes coincide. These are just some of his paintings but you can find more of his work on my Pinterest page! You can find my link to the right of the page.

The Future

Hey Everyone!

I apologize for not posting in a while. As I have previously mentioned I am currently in the process of moving and recently my internet access has been very limited, so I am resorting to using my phone and my iPad. By mid June I should be hopefully all settled but it may take a while to get all situated.

Do not fear! I have a lots of ideas for the summer, and I plan on going back to my old schedule. Hopefully I will be able to knock out a post everyday, we will have to wait and see.

I also wanted to mention I want to take this blog in a different direction. With my usual makeup, fashion, and all around beauty post, I want to do more. I want to make this an all around fun place for you. I have lots of ideas but I am open to suggestions. Want to see something in particular? Don't be afraid to comment! Please, I love hearing from you!

I'm super excited for this new adventure, just stick with me! <3 Stay Fabulous <3

Easy, Breeze Summer Hairstyles

Its getting hotter outside everyday and if you have long locks like mine, or a simple bob it's time to start thinking about what your going have to do with your hair in order to avoid a hot and sweaty mess. Here is some hairstyle I have been loving recently and a few more that you could try out!

Don't want to commit to a full updo? Try half up and half down for a casual look.
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/383861568213913657/
Half Up Bun- Half Down:
I love this hairstyle because it takes at least one layer off your head, but still gives you a beachy chic look.
You can style it messy like this or you could even take it into a more formal area by tightening the bun and curling the lower layer. For an easy bun grab the hair together and begin twisting upwards, then take a finger and wrap the hair around it and secure it with a ponytail holder. This process is super quick. This also works for short- medium length hair.

SUMMER QUICK TIP #1: Always keep a hair tie on your wrist or in your purse.

Braided Pigtails:
"Squeezing you tight and holding you close Is all I feel inside Although I try to hold in my love It's something that I just can't hide." -Boyz II Men
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/385057836862199258/
Embrace your inner Anna with this classic easy look. My favorite part about braided pigtails is all the creative liberty you can have with them. You could go for a french, dutch, fishtail, rope, or any variation that fits your hair type best. Want a thicker braid? After finishing the braid, gently pull at pieces to loosen. You can also make the braid tighter by doing a french braid from the top of the head down into a regular three strand braid.

Got Bangs?:
Pesky bangs/side bangs can make your forehead sweat like nobody's bushiness. Need a fun way to get them out of your face?

My Favorite Looks- Met Gala

The Met Gala, the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Constitute's largest event of the year. All eyes are on the women and men walking on the red carpet draped in the most elegant, interesting, and breathtaking ensembles you will ever see. The theme this year was China: Through the Looking Glass, and all the stars brought out their best.

Selena Gomez

Met Gala 2015: Best and worst red carpet looks on fashion's biggest night.
Selena Gomez used the red carpet to her advantaged and gracefully glided by the photographers in this stunning white Vera Wang original. I especially love her white floral headpiece.

Jennifer Lawrence

Met Gala 2015: Best and worst red carpet looks on fashion's biggest night.
Jennifer Lawerence rocked this Dior Couture piece. The shape of this dress flatters her every curve. I liked the simplistic style approached from JL this year, we are used to seeing her in ball gowns that give us flashbacks of  princess movies past. And may I say that her makeup is absolutely flawless.

Lorde
Met Gala 2015: Best and worst red carpet looks on fashion's biggest night.
Lorde looks radiant, in this Calvin Kline dress. Lorde is known for going very dark with her look and I'm loving her new style. Her makeup is absolutely FABULOUS!

Miranda Kerr
Met Gala 2015: Best and worst red carpet looks on fashion's biggest night.
Model Miranda Kerr looks stunning in this Louis Vuitton original. The silver color is a great one for her skin tone. I love this dress so much!

Gigi Hadid
Met Gala 2015: Best and worst red carpet looks on fashion's biggest night.

Gigi Hadid looks amazing as always.  She looks flawless, and even though her dress is quite elegant it still looks effortlessly chic. I've noticed that a lot of the celebrities on the carpet  this time around are really embracing the no-makeup makeup look.

Elizabeth Banks
Met Gala 2015: Best and worst red carpet looks on fashion's biggest night.
Teal is definitely the color for this Aca-Awesome announcer.  This dress hugs her body, and the sexy cutouts really play to her strengths. I also like her geometric silver clutch, it brings the look into a futuristic place in a way.

Dianna Argon
Met Gala 2015: Best and worst red carpet looks on fashion's biggest night.
Dianna is sure to be a little songbird in this Tory Burch original. It is very simplistic and Argon can really pull off anything. However my only criticism is that is makes her seems juvenile, but none the less she still looks as elegant and sophisticated as always.

Amelia Workman- Class and NYC Dreams

Hey Guys! I saw today that we hit over 6000 page views and it feels incredible! My classmate and friend Amelia Workman has started a fashion blog called Class and NYC Dreams. We decided to do an interview post together, so my readers could get to know her better and you can get to know me better. If you like this post be sure to check out her blog for the other half of the interview where she interviews me!

www.perfectinpolkadots.blogspot.com

If you have been a long time reader of this blog I did an interview awhile back with a new YouTuber named Josie Baker, if you would like to check that out as well just go to the top of my main page and you can search for it by typing into the search bar.

Interview:

Me: Hello Amelia how are you?
Amelia: Good yo!

Me: What have you been up to lately?
Amelia: I've been very busy with the musical rehearsals and sadly doing homework.

PS- We conducted this interview during our rehearsal for our upcoming school production of
Shrek The Musical. She is Teen Fiona (and an amazing one at that ;) ).

Me: I want to ask you a couple silly questions so my readers can get to know you better! If you could eat one meal only for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Amelia: Mac and Cheese!

Me: What clothing store is your favorite?
Amelia: J.Crew and Ann Taylor Loft
Me: (Laughs) I could have guessed that one!

Me: Dream Job?
Amelia: Musical Theatre Performer

Okay Amelia lets get into your blog a bit! I know you only started your blog recently so these answers will probably change as your blog develops but for right now lets jump into it!

Me: When did you begin blogging?
Amelia: Just last month!
Me: Wow, only a month and your already getting your first interview ;)

Me:What inspired you to start blogging?
Amelia: Ever since I got into fashion awhile ago, I've always had an interest in sharing my outfit ideas with others. I've posted on Tumbler and my outfits on Instagram, but I never had a formal outlet. One day after many people told me I should start one and wanting me to, I just was like well... why not?

Me: I've read one of your most recent articles, about the relation to fashion and art. It was an interesting and unique idea, it actually reminded me of one of my very early rants almost a year ago, but you brought it to life. Where do you get your inspiration?
Amelia:  Thank you! I get most of them from Pinterest and Tumblr, also sometimes at night I just think of really random things and I'm like, wow that's cool! I'm just a really out of the box thinker I suppose.

Me: In the future how do you see your blog progressing? Will you continue to focus on just fashion? I know you love makeup as well! Your really good at it as well!
Amelia: I think right now, I'm going to focus on fashion and incorporate makeup into my articles. I also would like to do some articles on lifestyle and that sort of thing. I just never want my blog to do mainstream topics, and if I do they would have to have some sort of twist.

Me: Are there any posts that your working on that you could give us a little incite on?
Amelia:  I'm working on some more ideas for spring and summer looks. Possibly a Spring Summer look book could be headed your way soon!
Me: Well I will definitely be on the look out for that!

Me: What would you say your personal style is?
Amelia: Even though I'm predominately preppy, I like to mix different styles in with it. I like to mix different styles in with it. I love vintage, classic, and older looking styles. I love polka dots, as it could be taken by my blog name.

Me; Is there a style that you necessarily don't wear but admire? Your #StyleCrushSaturday you could say!
Amelia: I like bohemian style and some earthy looks.

Me: Who is your style icon?
Amelia:I love Sarahbelle93x from YouTube, Sarah Vickers who is the fiancée of designer of Kiel James Patrick, and Jenna lyons the creative director of J.Crew. Oh and also, Lauren Conrad.

Me: Who are your favorite bloggers? YouTubers?
Amelia: I love the YouTuber Sarahbelle93x, Lauren and Emery ( who also have blogs), Tati ( GlamlifeGuru), Glamourkate08 AND YOU BABE
Me: ( laughs head off) SideNote- That was figurative, I still in fact have my head still attached to my person.

Me: Well I have to say I' very impressed by your following so far! I'm excited to see how your blog develops and the new content you create in the future.  <3 Stay Fabulous <3
Amelia: Thanks Bro <3

Happy Easter!

Hello Everyone!

DISNEY WORLD:
Long time no see! My life has been pretty busy, and for once I am liking the busyness. Lets see, what have the past two weeks consisted of for me? Well, first off I went to Disney World!!! Most of you know that I absolutely love Disney, so I was in paradise. I went to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, (Universal Studios Also), and I even performed, with my school, at Downtown Disney! Wait your a performer, you ask? Yes, I actually go to a performing arts high school for Musical Theater. However this is my last year because I will be moving at the end of the school year  :(

Where (you may ask again)? I'M NOT TELLING YOU SILLY!

It was a great experience, not to mention I met so many princesses!!! I met Pocahontas, Aurora, Elsa, Anna, Rapunzel, Cinderella, and Ariel. I met many other characters as well.

Here's One Pic of me in Epcot-China:

More Pictures to come!

EASTER SUNDAY:
I got to spend this Easter Sunday with my best friend, Bethany and after Easter Dinner we decided to have a photo shoot in her backyard. Luckily she lives out in the country. The large fields of corn and clear skies always lead to the perfect pictures.

I  got this fabulous dress on clearance at Macy's! I love it's Nautical feel and its incredible cut.  When I packed my clothes, I forgot to bring dress shoes, so instead I wore my character shoes. They actually worked pretty well. Were they comfortable? Not at all but you've got to do, what you've got to do! Also you can't see it, but on one of my ankles I got a henna tattoo of a princess crown :)
I kept my makeup girly, with touches of pink and long eyelashes. I've recently switched over to using the Bloom Mascara from Covergirl. At first I really didn't like it at all, but after working with it, I love it!

I hope you all had an Amazing Easter/Resurrection Day!
